CLIVE STREET is an Australian brand that specializes in sustainable and ethically produced bags and accessories. The brand is named after the founder's father, Robert Clive Curtis, and is a personal journey that started with a love of sewing. The founder is completely self-taught and takes pride in creating stylish, beautiful, and high-quality items out of discarded materials that were destined for landfill.
Beyond the brand:
- All the work that goes into making Clive Street bags and accessories takes place in the founder's own studio and backyard in Brisbane, Queensland. From collecting and cleaning to cutting and sewing, everything is done by hand. Despite juggling the roles of small business owner and mother to four adult children and a few fur-babies, the founder wouldn't have it any other way.
- The goal of Clive Street is to show people how discarded items can be transformed into beautiful bags and accessories. The brand hopes to inspire people to ask questions about how things are made and by whom. At least 80% of each finished product is made from previously discarded materials, making each item unique in wear and markings. The founder hopes that customers will love their Clive Street purchase as much as she loved making it for them.
